FM Design History

Fintan McDonnell studied art and design at Rupert Stanley College and University of Ulster, followed by several years training and working as a designer-draughtsman with an established Belfast firm.

By the early nineties he was ready to go it alone and FM Design was launched.

With a growing clientele across hospitality and commercial retail, as well as home and heritage properties, Fintan has earned a strong reputation for high quality bespoke creations and built a significant back catalogue of successful commissions and satisfied clients. Technology has evolved at FM Design too, with operations going fully digital over the years. Fintan has likewise continued to expand and consolidate FM Design’s creative flair and business acumen, adding a full project management service for all commissions, including planning requirements, building regulations, and strong links with Irish and English Heritage bodies.
